Now “Balloons over Bagan” affords visitors to unique opportunity to see this ancient kingdom, as it never has been seen before.

Flying over Bagan

Sunrise and sunset flights last just under one hour and take off daily from October to March. The balloon is guided by to gentle winds not exceeding 25 km/hs, allowing passengers to serene and peaceful bird-eye view of ancient temples drifting by.

Safety

“Ballons over Bagan” pilots and technicians are all qualified and registered in the UK. The Balloons, which are built to the highest standards of the British aerospace industry, are provided by Cameron Balloons Limited, the world's largest manufacturer of high quality balloons.
Bob will continuoue to opeate a maximum of three balloons at any one time. Total capacity will be 32 passengers for flight during the month of November, December, January, February and March, and will remain at 20passengers for flight during October.

BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. All pre bookings must be made through the Yangon office and can only be made up to 72 hours or 3 days in advance.
2. Standby tickets at the standby rate can only be purchased 24 hours or one full day in advance at our Sales desk in Bagan.
3. Payment and confirmation: Balloons over Bagan must receive payment from the travel agent in order to issue the tickets and confirm the flight. The deadline for such payment is three days before the flight. If the travel agent is unable to pay at this stage, the reservation will not be considered as confirmed, and may be cancelled and given to other clients who are able to make immediate payment.
4. Cancellation fees will only apply upon payment and issue of tickets. Cancellation fees have now been amended as follows:
 

   Applies only to individual pre bookings between 1 to 12 passengers
    - Cancellation less than 48 hours before flight – no refund
    - Cancellation between 48 hours and 72 hours before flight – 50% refund

   (No deposit required and full payment must be paid 72 hours in advance of the flight date.)
   Applies only to group pre bookings between 12 to 20 passengers
   - Cancellation between one month and 7 days before flight – 90% refund

   (A 10 % and non refundable deposit will be required one month in advance to confirm the booking and the balance payment will be required one week in advance of the flight date.) Applies only to group pre bookings in excess of 20 passengers
   - Cancellation one month before flight – 90% refund

   (A 10 % and non refundable deposit will be required at the time of booking to confirm the booking and the balance payment will be required one month in advance of the flight date.)
5. Passengers or their accompanying guide must register at our sales desk at Thiripyitsaya Sanctuary Hotel upon arrival in Bagan.
6. Receipt of payment vouchers / flight tickets must be produced at launch site.
7. No refunds will be given for failure to arrive for a pre-arranged flight.
8. Balloons over Bagan reserves the right to cancel or delay flights, change rendezvous and launch sites, at short notice, to achieve a safe and successful flight. Balloons over Bagan will not accept liability for any consequential loss or inconvenience.
9. Flights cancelled by Balloons over Bagan for safety reasons or as a result of unfavorable weather or operational difficulties will be refunded in full.
10.  Any Passenger in excess of 125 kg / 280 pounds, or any passenger who requires the space in the basket for 2 passengers, will be required to pay a 100% surcharge of the ticket price. Failure to provide accurate information in advance could lead to the refusal of flight at the launch site, whereby no refund will be offered.
11. Balloons over Bagan carries third party and passenger liability for each balloon.
12. Balloons over Bagan reserve the right to alter, revise or review any terms, conditions or rates, at its discretion. Please also read the “conditions of flight” which will be given to each passenger in Bagan.
13. Our general policy will be to accept morning flights only as a pre booking. However, evening flights will be considered with a minimum of 6 persons, and then at the discretion of the Yangon office. Bookings for FRC and resident Myanmar citizens will not be eligible for commission.
14. FRC holders and Myanmar citizens should be advised to contact our office directly.
15. USD 15 per person will be charged from 20th December 2011 to 05th January 2012


CONDITIONS OF FLIGHT

Passengers or their accompanying guide must register at our sales desk at Thiripyitsaya Sanctuary Hotel upon arrival in Bagan. Our sales desk is open from 0800 AM to 1100 AM & again from 0500 PM to 0800 PM. The contact phone number is 061 60058.

Passengers are advised to wear long trousers and long sleeved clothing from 100% natural fibers.

Receipt of payment vouchers / flight tickets must be produced at launch site.
No refunds will be given for failure to arrive for a pre-arranged flight.
Any known medical condition which may affect your ability to fly or assist the crew must be disclosed to Balloons over Bagan at the time of booking and to the pilot on the day of the flight, i.e. epilepsy, recent surgery etc. Some conditions may preclude you from eligibility to fly. Pregnant women will not be permitted to fly.

Balloons over Bagan will not accept liability for illness or injury due to any undisclosed condition or failure to comply with any reasonable instruction given by the pilot or crew or company representative.

The pilot in command is legally obliged to consider the safety of his passengers at all times and may refuse to carry passengers for whatever reason if it is considered their carriage may endanger the flight, other passengers or themselves. Balloons over Bagan reserves the right to refuse the carriage of any passenger.

Any Passenger in excess of 125 kg / 280 pounds, or any passenger who requires the space in the basket for 2 passengers, will be required to pay a 100% surcharge of the ticket price. Failure to provide accurate information in advance could lead to the refusal of flight at the launch site, whereby no refund will be offered.

All passengers must carefully listen to the security briefing (see below) given by the pilot before the launch of the balloon and indicate in case he / she doesn’t understand the security briefing.
The pilot of the day has absolute authority and all passengers and crew must comply with his instructions. The pilot’s decision on all matters is final.

Balloons over Bagan expects passengers to assist the pilot and crew in any situation that is deemed reasonable, during pre- and post-flight activities.

Balloons over Bagan reserves the right to cancel or delay flights, change rendezvous and launch sites, at short notice, to achieve a safe and successful flight. Balloons over Bagan will not accept liability for any consequential loss or inconvenience.

Balloons over Bagan carries third party and passenger liability for each balloon. Balloons over Bagan accepts no liability for claims arising as a result of an act or default of any other passenger or bystander. Balloons over Bagan accepts no liability for loss or damage to persons or property other than that which results from negligence on its own part. Balloons over Bagan does not accept liability for loss or damage to personal effects.

Flights cancelled by Balloons over Bagan for safety reasons or as a result of unfavorable weather or operational difficulties will be refunded in full. All direct payments to Balloons over Bagan will be refunded in cash either in Bagan or in Yangon. For all bookings made through tour agents, passengers must contact the respective agent to organize their refunds. Credit card payments will be refunded directly to the clients bank account.

Balloons over Bagan reserves the right to alter, revise or review any terms, conditions or rates, at its discretion.

Balloons over Bagan will not fly children under the age of 8 years. A child under the age of 16 years will only be flown if accompanied by a responsible adult, and the child is over 4’6” tall (or 137 cm).

Security briefing (as given by the pilot before take-off)

* Do not touch any colored ropes or the fuel hoses or any of the burner controls
* During inflation, do not move between the trucks and the balloon.
* On the command ‘Landing Positions’;
* Face backwards to the direction of travel.
* Hold onto the rope handles
* Bend your knees (like skiing), but do not sit on the floor
* Lean back against the basket padding
* Stay in this position until told to come back up.
* Before the landing, stow all cameras/videos/binoculars etc. DO NOT HANG ANYTHING AROUND YOUR NECK.
* After the landing, stay in the basket. Do not get out, until the pilot has told you it is safe to do so!
* NO SMOKING IN AND AROUND THE BALLOON at all times.
